I love getting to photograph equestrian seniors before they head off to college! Hearing all about their plans, their excitement at the unknown, and knowing that the entire world is opening up to them for the first time. Maybe it’s because it takes me back to when the world was fresh and new and opportunities were endless. What a special time to capture. Claire and Snoopy won’t always be together, but when Claire looks back at these pictures we created together, I hope she is still full of the adventure, hope and excitement that she was at this time in her life.

We knew from the initial planning of their session that the focus would be on highlighting their relationship and celebrating how far Kenzie has come in the early days of her hopeful equestrian career. She was excited to be finished with her high school curriculum and ready to be headed on to the next stage of her adult life.

I later photographed her at a barn she was taking riding lessons at as part of a local 4-H team and of course we naturally progressed to holiday horse portraits. After all the hours of hard work. The dedication. The time and commitment. You finally made it to the end.
Girl, can you believe it? I mean seriously?
Ok, so you’re not graduating today. You have an entire school year to go. Getting ready now doesn’t mean you’re jumping the gun, though. Because there’s a lot of planning and prepping to do to celebrate. And oh yeah, you’re gonna C E L E B R A T E!
You’ve reached a serious milestone in your life. Through the ups and downs, you’ve kept your eyes forward and chin up. You’ve pressed on when you didn’t think you could. You’ve zigged and zagged through the maze we call life to get to the next destination.
Going back 4 years in your mind, you remember the day you saw one of the older girls at your barn having her senior pictures taken. What an awesome idea. You never heard of doing senior portraits with your favorite four-legged friends. Until you received a “Barn Bucket” from Fast Horse Photography loaded with goodies for you and your horse. When your mom picked you up after lessons, you shared your hopes of having your senior pictures taken with your horses. With tears in her eyes, mom said it was a lovely idea.
