I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Kerri, a local high school senior, and her beautiful horse, Winterhawk, at one of the prettiest spots around—Star 4 Equestrian located in St. Augustine, Florida. Let me tell you, the sunny evening we had was perfect, with light filtering through the oak trees in a way that felt almost magical. It made the session feel even more special.

Hearing all about their plans, their excitement at the unknown, and knowing that the entire world is opening up to them for the first time. Maybe it’s because it takes me back to when the world was fresh and new and opportunities were endless. What a special time to capture. Claire and Snoopy won’t always be together, but when Claire looks back at these pictures we created together, I hope she is still full of the adventure, hope and excitement that she was at this time in her life.

Kadin’s senior portrait session took place at The Good Beginnings Riding Center where he just happens to spend much of his time when he isn’t studying. A couple of years ago I photographed Kadin as part of a barn day photography shoot, and was delighted when called back to capture his senior portraits. As a graduation of the University of Florida myself, I was so excited to hear that he was headed to Gainesville, Florida to start the next chapter of his life!
