How to Celebrate the Culmination of High School or College With a Bang
It’s here. It’s finally here.
Your senior year.
After all the hours of hard work. The dedication. The time and commitment. You finally made it to the end.
Girl, can you believe it? I mean seriously?
Ok, so you’re not graduating today. You have an entire school year to go. Getting ready now doesn’t mean you’re jumping the gun, though. Because there’s a lot of planning and prepping to do to celebrate. And oh yeah, you’re gonna C E L E B R A T E!
You’ve reached a serious milestone in your life. Through the ups and downs, you’ve kept your eyes forward and chin up. You’ve pressed on when you didn’t think you could. You’ve zigged and zagged through the maze we call life to get to the next destination.
Graduation.
Has it been easy? Heck no. Did you want to quit? More than once. But, you didn’t.
You triumphed over the pressure. You fought the fight to make it.
Friends moved away. Your parents sold the house you grew up in. Homework assignments were relentless. You even made a few choices you hate to admit were… stupid.
But hey, isn’t that what life is for? To make decisions — fail or succeed, then learn from them.
So now is the time to plan something big. But what’s a momentous way to signify your completion?
A Senior Year Equine Photo Session with Fast Horse Photography.
Not only have you successfully navigated the stressors to finish school, you’ve worked hard training your 3 horses, to boot.
Your equestrian career has been epic with more ribbons and trophies than you can count. You’ve traveled the country earning titles and recognition you never dreamed of. Quite the whirlwind if you think about it.
So, why not have a senior portrait session with your horses?
It’s going to be a fantastic adventure.
Creating a Plan
To begin, you meet at your barn for a pre-session consultation.
Cara wants folks to ruminate over how they hope to use the beautiful horse pictures she creates. Do you want elegant photos to grace the walls of your home along with photo books to share with your family and friends? Metal prints to hang at your barn, or a keepsake box for your cherished treasures?
You discuss the many keepsakes and framing options Fast Horse Photography has to offer.
Knowing the outcome of your photo session will dictate the entire process.
Next, you’ll go over the on-site locations you hope to use. Don’t panic if you don’t have that part planned out, though. There are plenty of beautiful locations to create the images of your dreams. You might be surprised by the amazing photo spots right at your barn, too.
The focus is on creating true-to-life images representing your reality. Unique images of you and your herd.
Ones that help you remember and celebrate life with horses.
It is important to discuss ideas for what to wear. You want this photo session to represent who you are. Your ambition. Your sense of adventure. Your distinct desires and personality traits.
Do you want hair and makeup done by a professional? Fast Horse Photography works with Onsite Muse, one of the best hairstylists and makeup artists around. Why not add an air of elegance and glam to your photo session? Come on, you’ll love it. That’s a promise.
Finally, you cover getting your horses ready for the shoot. You know all about getting them gussied up and show ready. But, it’s important to walk through how to practice and prepare for the upcoming photo session. Of course, you can’t expect your boys to be perfect. But practice goes a long way when preparing for an equine photo session.
Getting the horses ready for the big day
You’re three boys, Gus, Hugo, and Jack are quite the trio. Each one has a personality big enough to light up the arena. They are well-mannered and give you everything they have, whether training or showing. Every. Single. Day.
Jack is the oldest and almost ready to retire. But, that horse — he can still cut with the best of ‘em. He can load himself in the trailer, and strut as he does it. He is quite the looker too. A very unique Blue Roan. He’s the best.
Gus is the baby of the group. At 5 years old, you still work closely with a trainer. He is a little mischievous because of his age. But when he’s working, he doesn’t mess around.
Last, but not least is Hugo. A huge Quarter horse with show-stopping bloodlines and stunning confirmation. Hello, haunches and a mane and tail that won’t quit. He is your favorite. But, don’t tell Jack or Gus.
The boys are pretty desensitized to noise and even the crinkliest plastic bags. But you practiced anyway just to make sure everyone’s ready to say cheese.
Bathed, clipped, and a little bit of Showsheen to look their best for the camera.
The day of the shoot
You and Cara decided on The Florida Agricultural Museum in Palm Coast, , Florida. The weather is simply perfect. Not too sweltering hot to melt off your makeup. Always a plus.
The horses trailered over like champs.
Your time with Onsite Muse left you feeling like a princess.
Cara helped you relax as she gracefully moved you through poses, different locations, and outfit changes. The boys were curious and well-behaved.
Honestly, the day was one of the best you’ve ever had. You wished your time with your professional horse photographer would never end.
The big reveal
Your excitement has bubbled over as you’ve waited for this day. You’ve longed to see the images of you and your horses up close and personal.
You are amazed when you finally get to look. The colors. The vibrant contrasts. You can’t believe what you see. Even though you are not the biggest fan of seeing yourself in pictures, you’re blown away by how beautiful you look. The horses are stunning.
Tears well up and cascade down your face as you feel such gratitude. For your life. Your biggest supporters in the equine industry. Your teachers who’ve helped you along the way. Your parents and their unending patience. Your grandparents for financially backing you all these years.
And Cara for capturing the perfect senior portraits to reflect your journey with your boys.
With all the keepsake options Fast Horse Photography offers, you choose a few portraits with incredible custom frames and photobooks for your parents and grandparents. A memory box and three large portraits for yourself. Even a 24”x 30” metal print to hang at your barn to thank your trainer and crew for their years of encouragement and help.
What an incredible experience. One you will remember forever.
