Several weeks before the actual photography session, I had the pleasure of visiting Christina at her beautiful home in an equestrian community in Eustis, Florida. During our creative consultation, Christina shared her vision for her equine portraits. She showed me the specific space in her home where she hoped to display the portraits of her beloved horses. We took pictures of the wall space and measurements, ensuring that the artwork we were about to create would not only fit perfectly but also enhance the beauty of her home.

Abigail & Rosie the Riveter / Portraits with Horses / Elkton, Florida

I can’t thank Abigail and her aunt Roxane enough for sharing their love of horses (and especially sweet Rosie) with me at a recent equine and equestrian portrait session! We met on a cloudy morning, with a small chance of rain, at a sweet little horse stable in Elkton, Florida. Just off the beaten path and perfect for a morning of photography. While we had a few must have shots on the list, we spent most of our time capturing moments of connection between Rosie and her favorite human, Abigail.

Melissa and Vego/ Horse and Human Bond/ Knights Equestrian/ Hastings, FL

I met Melissa and the horse she spends her time with, Vega, through her friend Stephanie when they decided to have an “equestrian friends” photography session together. Seriously, how amazing is that and why aren’t more horse friends doing it? Kira with Onsite Muse came out to the barn to do everyone’s hair and makeup and while I was waiting to start the session I kept smiling at all the laughter coming from them as they talked about their favorite times together spent with horses! We did a combination of green space images and black background portraits and Melissa did a couple of wardrobe changes to to fit the mood of the day. I hope they always remember this day and the laughter when they look at the wall art we created together.

Stephanie and Rory/ Equine Photography Session/ Knights Equestrian/ Hastings, Florida

Stephanie contacted me to capture some horse and human connection moments between herself and her new horse Rory at the barn that they often ride at, Knights Equestrian. Even though the two of them had only been together a short time, it was very clear that Rory was quite happy with his new human! Today you can see this team eventing all over the State of Florida!

When I met with Kirsten to discuss her session goals for her equine photography portrait session with Fast Horse Photography, one thing was very clear. She really wanted to attempt to create an art piece that showcased her beautiful horses all together! Working with five horses can be a bit tricky when you want them all to stand quietly right up next to each other, but most importantly, one of her horses wasn’t doing well health wise. We worked together to create a timeframe that would work to pull it all together and I’m excited we were able to get it all done! I can’t wait to see it in print very soon!

New foals are hitting the ground all over NE Florida and I’ve had the pleasure to photograph several of them in their early days of life. The 2020 foaling season has left many expecting horse owners, with sleepless nights as they worry over the safe arrival of new colts and fillies to their stables.

Capturing the First Week of a New Foals Life

Meet baby Clay. Clay is a sweet little colt born earlier this month and yep, that’s milk on his face. Cute right?! I was contacted by the great folks over at Dream Catcher Stables here in St. Augustine, Florida, within hours of little Clay’s arrival from womb to the pasture. They wanted to have his early days photographed by an equine photographer with the hopes of adding his image to their collection of stable art found in the aisle of their barn.
