How to Go From an Equestrian Photo Session to Finished Wall Art for Your Home, Barn, or Office
7 Ways Fast Horse Photography Provides the Full-Service Experience You are Looking For
When was the last time you invested in professional equine photography?
Beautiful horse images to grace the walls of your home or barn? Marking a milestone in your life or your family’s life with your beloved horses? Wedding photos, Senior photos, winning a championship title, or just celebrating a steadfast and faithful companion — your heart horse.
Have you done this lately? Or has it been years? Maybe you’ve never experienced a photoshoot with your horses and you are eager to make the investment. Because truly, that’s what a full-service experience with an equine portrait specialist is. It’s an investment. A complete photo session then hanging your equine wall art in your home. You are investing in your memories. Capturing what’s happening NOW in your life. Creating heritage pieces to remind you of your sacred horse and human relationship.
Don’t wait for another second...
First things first… you need to find the right photographer who understands what your hopes are for your ideal equine photo session.
Then, there’s the planning, prepping, and practicing to get ready for the photo session of your dreams.
And finally… tada! You get your photos back… the digital images are gorgeous. But, you are left on a ledge… not knowing what to do next. What size should you order? How do you frame them? What kind of frame should you use? Where and how should you hang the photos?
You are at a total loss. So, your photos end up on your computer. Safe. Waiting for something to be done with them. Some day.
You want something special. Unique. Amazing equine wall art to add flair and warmth to your home, barn, or office. Horse images that not only last the test of time. But also leave a lasting impression on the hearts and minds of onlookers.
Fast Horse Photography to the Rescue — Here’s How
One - A knowledgeable and experienced equestrian
I started riding before I could tie my shoes. And handled the snarliest of ponies. I’ve learned most of the hard work takes place in the quiet times like at the barn — genuinely getting to know your horses and what they like and dislike.
From start to finish, my goal is to team up with you and your horse. Equestrian to equestrian. You and I will work together to understand your horse’s quirks and behaviors and how to set them up for total success. We will craft a plan for your photo session and have you practice some. On your day, I will be there coaching and encouraging you and your horse through your session.
Rest assured, when you set up your equestrian photoshoot with Fast Horse Photography, you will be in good hands. At the start of the portrait process to hanging your art on the walls of your home or office, I will be there to coach and guide you and your horse every step of the way.
Two - My work is my passion
I pride myself on figuring out your style and what look and feel would make your dreams come true. My focus is on creating true to life images representing your actual life with horses.
Whether it’s pictures of horse and rider in show attire, a family photo session, senior portraits, or a gun slingin’ cowgirl out on the range, I want your equine portraiture to celebrate life with horses. Your life. Your horses.
Three - Planning and Prepping
Right from the get-go, I want folks to think about how they hope to use their beautiful horse pictures we create together. Knowing your hopes for the outcome dictates the process.
Considering where in your home, office, or barn you intend to hang your new wall art is important to discuss.
During the pre-session consultation, we can walk through your home or stable and talk about spaces you hope to fill with the artwork we create together. I can take pictures of the spaces and virtually show you artwork on your walls when you come to your viewing and ordering appointment.
Everything from location, time of day, and wardrobe considerations come into play.
We are creating an art form. Not just photos to flip through on your phone. Rather, exquisite pieces to breathe life and adventure into your home.
Everything Fast Horse Photography does is unique.
Four - On The Day of Your Equestrian Photo Session
The day of the shoot — get ready for luxury like you have never experienced with your trusted steed. Fast Horse Photography works with the incredible talent of Onsite Muse. They do hair and makeup on location. So, the pampering comes right to you. Hello, what’s not to love about that?
Your day is not just “smile,” “ok look this way,” and go home. It’s like a spa day with your horse.

Five - Image Viewing
When a client comes to my studio for their big reveal session — your image viewing and ordering appointment, you get to touch and handle frame corners, metal prints, and canvas gallery wraps. Getting a feel for what you want in your home.
I can put your pictures inside most of the frames so you can choose what you love... I also teach you how to take pictures of your walls. When you send me a picture of your wall at home, we can design your art and show it to scale on your walls!
How cool is that?
Creating this type of wall art is an investment and I want my clients to feel confident in the selections they make.
We also talk about your taste and the types of art you already have in your home. How you currently display your favorite pictures. We discuss the presentation of images from any other previous professional photography sessions. What you like and what could be better.
I tell my clients, artwork should be appropriately sized for its location. I believe in filling space. Art that is too small or too large for space looks out of place. Being able to show you your artwork digitally on your walls, to scale, is a game-changer. It helps you see how different sized pieces or groupings can work.
Six - Choosing Your Unique Framing Medium
This is where the bar is raised!
Unbelievable heirloom art pieces. Unique. Complementing your home and decor.
Your main options are framed prints, canvas, and metal. The possibilities are endless. For example, you can frame prints, metal, and canvas depending on your style and what you fall in love with. Unframed canvases and unframed metal prints are also quite popular. Together we figure out what looks best in your home and brings you the most joy. I got you covered.
Framed Print - Classic Elegance
I offer a rather unique type of frame for my clients. I am part of an exclusive group of professional photographers who can offer these frames. So distinctive and special, they become a unique art piece themselves. Insert your equine print and you have a masterpiece to be cherished forever.
Farm House Frames out of St. Louis, Missouri states, “Our collection of authentically reclaimed frames includes only products created with naturally aged wood. These products are crafted with materials that are over hundreds of years old and feature unique characteristics slightly different from one another.” The artisans also share, “All of our products are handcrafted from start to finish using reclaimed materials and each one has a bit of history weaved into them.”
I just love these frames, I know you will too. They are truly dreamy.
Canvas Gallery Wraps - Gorgeous Presentation
An Incredible presentation for your home, barn, or office on canvas that is museum caliber.
“Canvas Gallery Wraps are made with a print on Professional Photo Paper bonded onto museum quality canvas, or a Premium Fine Art Print printed directly onto canvas material. The print is then wrapped around an artist's stretcher frame, and finished with your choice of hanging hardware.”
What an exquisite way to display your equine portraits, right? Close your eyes and envision something like this in your living room.
Wow.
Metal Prints - Just Brilliant Metal Prints are spectacular. So iconic. They are “made by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets… applauded by photographers and artists everywhere for their magical luminescence.”
“You've never seen a more brilliant and impressive print! Colors are vibrant and the radiance is breathtaking. Their waterproof, scratch-resistant surface makes MetalPrints our most hygienic and durable medium -- also available on Performance EXT metal to give your MetalPrints an extended life in the elements!”
I always recommend metal prints for places that are tougher to control the climate… such as stables/barns. This way you are sure to have a piece last a lifetime, and for generations to come.
Seven - Build a Legacy Collection All of my products are great for passing down in families. But, I think a framed piece is classic and will endure time.
I have families I photograph every year or two. We then replace the image within one of the frames they ordered from me in the past.
The finest frames designed to last generations.
Sometimes wall space starts to get filled up. Having appropriately sized frames in place to match your home decor allows you to update each piece as you get new images.
Think about this idea… Your daughter completes a high-school equestrian senior session. You chose frames with the thought that at some point your daughter will graduate college, get married and maybe have grandchildren. All of these milestones could end up in that frame at some point over the next several years.
Don’t you love this idea?
Fast Horse Photography’s intent is not to take a bunch of photos and send you home with digital files.
The plan is for you to have an amazing day. One where you feel pampered and elegant alongside your cherished equine. A day to celebrate your dreams and how you got to where you are today. And, the day doesn’t stop there. Choosing a framing medium, and hanging your treasured horse images on your wall. That’s where Fast Horse Photography is different from the rest. We genuinely want you to experience the full service you are looking for.
To create equine art so classic, so unique, it takes your breath away when you look at it.
