Photographing the Equestrian Dreams of Ashlyn and Spade: A St. Johns, Florida Adventure
I recently had the privilege of working with a remarkable young equestrian named Ashlyn and her beloved horse, Spade, in the picturesque St. Johns, Florida. This session was a true celebration of the bond between rider and horse, set against the backdrop of a beautiful afternoon in Spade's pasture.
One of the key elements of a successful equine photography session is ensuring that both the equestrian and their four-legged companion feel comfortable and at ease. For Ashlyn and Spade, we chose to hold the session right in Spade's pasture. This decision allowed the pair to be in their element, the place that they spend the most time together, resulting in authentic and heartwarming moments captured on camera.
Our photography goal together was to capture a wide range of images that would truly represent Ashlyn's equestrian journey and the special connection she shares with Spade. The session included:
Equine and Equestrian Portraits: We began with adorable portraits of Ashlyn and Spade interacting together, highlighting their sweet bond.
Action Images: Aspiring barrel racer Ashlyn and Spade took center stage as they cantered around the pasture, showcasing Ashlyn’s beautiful seat and her radiant smile.
Equestrian Family Portraits: We extended the session to include the whole family, creating a beautiful snapshot of this time in their lives together.
My commitment to a full-service, client-centered approach extends beyond the photo session itself. Ashlyn and her family joined me for a viewing and ordering appointment, where the magic truly happens.
At this appointment, we delved into the process of selecting the perfect images to transform into exquisite equine wall art. The goal was to replace generic horse pictures in Ashlyn's bedroom with personalized, meaningful artwork that would inspire her every day and get her excited to head to the barn. Not to mention when she couldn’t be with Spade she always had her right there on the wall to admire.
In addition to Ashlyn's bedroom transformation, we also crafted a stunning family portrait that soon will grace their living room. This piece serves as a beautiful reminder of the love and unity that bonds them together PLUS it includes their horse, Spade!
With the holiday season approaching, we couldn't resist the opportunity to create prints that would make heartfelt gifts for Ashlyn's family members. These prints are not just images; they are tokens of love and cherished moments captured in time and they celebrate this time in Ashlyn’s life and the horse that she loves.
