A New Adventure Begins: Kerri and Winterhawk

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Kerri, a local high school senior, and her beautiful horse, Winterhawk, at one of the prettiest spots around—Star 4 Equestrian located in St. Augustine, Florida. Let me tell you, the sunny evening we had was perfect, with light filtering through the oak trees in a way that felt almost magical. It made the session feel even more special.

Kerri wanted her session to reflect all the good times she’s had over the years at Star 4, a place where she’s spent countless hours riding and making memories. Her connection to the barn is strong, and it’s one of those spots that just feels like a second home to her. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve arrived at Star 4 Equestrian to see Kerri in the background helping with horses, taking a lesson or just hanging around with her barn friends.

She came prepared with three really cute outfits, each one adding its own unique touch to her session. First, she rocked a sweet, flowery dress with a cowgirl hat that gave off serious “southern charm” vibes. Then, she switched it up with a classic western look that showcased her love for the lifestyle. Finally, she pulled out her cap and gown, a nod to her upcoming graduation and all the hard work that’s gotten her here.

The moments we created together were stunning, but the best part was getting to sit down with Kerri at her viewing and ordering appointment. She chose to preserve her memories in an Ambrosia Keepsake Box, a gorgeous collection that holds 25 of her favorite images printed as 8x10 mounted prints. It’s a beautiful way to keep her photos close and look back on her favorite memories with Winterhawk and Star 4 Equestrian. She can pull out her favorite 8x10 prints and frame them in her home, college dorm, or gift them to grandparents. Plus, the USB included will come in handy for sharing her photos with family and friends, as well as creating her graduation announcements.

Kerri’s session was more than just senior pictures—it was a celebration of the journey she’s had with Winterhawk, at Star 4 Equestrian, with her friends at the barn, and the ways she’s loved spending her time. I’m so honored to have been part of her senior year story and can’t wait to see where she goes next!
